Restaurant: Vin Room

Wow, I feel like this month is going to consist mostly of food lol.

Last Tuesday, me and a few friends had dinner at the Vin Room on 4th st. for the first time. Enjoy the food pictures!

When I first walked in the restaurant, it gave me a very cozy vibe because the place almost looked like someones living room  & everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves. The food here was very delicious, and the the wine menu was huge! I don't drink wine much so I randomly just chose one & it was surprisingly not gross. =P

Our waitress was awesome, although  I think she was trying to get everyone drunk lol, every time she came to check up on us, she would ask if we would like more wine, even when we said no the first few times & our glasses were full.

My overall experience was amazing, I think this place would be great to take your lover and for people that would want a more intimate dinner experience.

Restaurant Review: National Beer Hall

Hi guys!!! So last Tuesday me and Dan, decided to walk to National (550 17 Ave SW) to try out their oysters, since it was $1 Tuesday. This was our first time there so this my first impression of the place. National is a place that has long dining benches like Hog warts lol, which is nice if your in a friendly mood & want to meet new friends. BUT, if your the kind of person that hates people in general & don't want to share tables, than there are a few tables in the corners available for you as well but they tend to get filled fast so you might be forced to sit with strangers. =P

The atmosphere of the place was nice, it was dimly lit with a lot of sun light that lit up the place through their patio. When we got there, the place was quite busy & I noticed that the crowd was very diverse, which was awesome so there wasn't any discrimination towards anyone...unlike Watchmens.

The staff are really friendly there, which is a nice surprise because most pubs that I've been to, a lot of the staff would seem annoyed.

On to the food. We order 2 dozens of East coast oysters & 2 dozens of West coast oysters, why not? is was $1 an oyster! We also ordered the duck poutine.  I don't have a picture of the poutine but let me tell you, it was delicious.

Once the our oyster came out, we were ready to devour it. They were served with a red vinegar cause, lemon wedges & horseradish. The oysters were fresh and good! You can really taste & see the difference between the west and east coast oysters. The east had a mild taste and they all look the same, & the west had a strong fishy taste and the the shells were quite ugly lol. In my opinion, I prefer the east coast oysters, I recommend you guys ordering that.

I am quite please with National & will definitely go there more often. I've also heard that they're expanding & took over Whiskey night club. Also a little birdy told me that their new location will have a bowling ally! I'm a little excited.

Dinner at Cibo

Hey guys! Last Tuesday, me and my BF went on a dinner & movie date & we tried this new...well not necessary new, the restaurant has been there for a few years now...anyways we had dinner at Cibo. It's located  on 10th St? of 17th Ave. It was like 2 blocks away from where I lived, I don't know why have't ate there before lol.

Thought I would share my dinner experience here with you guys. Oh, be prepared to look at badly focused pictures. The restaurant was dimly lit & I was way to shy to use my flash. >.<

First off, we ordered appies, it was 3 for $11.
Starting from the left, we got marinated mushrooms, bruschetta & country pork terrine. The waitress gave us bruschetta bread on the side & we used that to eat with everything lol, which probably wasn't the correct way of eating it...but hey! They all tasted better with bread.

On to our entrees, he got the Tagliatelle pasta.

& I got the Wild Boar Bacon Pizza. We end up putting both plates in the middle & just shared them.  Both were delicious...but the pizza was better because it had bacon lol.

By the time we finished, I was full & he was pretty full...but I wanted ice cream lol. So for dessert, we shared a Pistachio Gelato & a White Chocolate and Goat Cheese Panna Cotta.

The Panna Cotta was a little too sweet for my liking but the pecan that they topped it with was amazing! I would buy a whole box of that.

The food here is awesome & rustic, same with the interior & atmosphere. I'm for sure coming back to this place, I want to check out the outside patio in the summer. =)

Oh & the movie we went to go see? Identity Theft...sort of wish we went to see Oz instead.

Shibuya Izakaya: Sushi

BEST sushi place in Calgary, hands down! There's great service and fresh sushi every single time...not as fresh as BC sushi but the freshest joint in Calgary lol. BTW, I didn't take pictures of everything I ordered, simple because I was too busy inhaling the food lol.

Creamy Udon is a MUST try! It's like an Asian version of alfredo. So good! Trust me =)

Best beef tataki EVER!! lol I have tried a lot of beef tatakis at other sushi restaurants and Shibuya... is my ALL time favorite. Their beef is always sliced at a perfect width lol and the seasoning is the tastiest here.

Spicy Salmon roll and Salmon sashimi. Mmmmm...I love Salmon!

Raw oysters. I don't really like eating oysters so I wouldn't know what to tell you guys lol. My boyfriend and his friends seem to love it though. =P

Sake Salmon Sushi...LOVE FRESH SALMON!!! and ugh shrimp sushi lol... -.-" I don't remember what the correct name is lol. Ebi?

And the last picture I took. Kiwi Paradise roll. Never had this before, I just randomly ordered it...&? I LOVED it. =)

Seriously people, go try this place out. =)

Sun's BBQ Resturant

Just finish eating Chinese food at this restaurant on Center Street called Sun's BBQ. This restaurant is usually where you can find me & Dan eating Chinese food here after like 11pm lol. If not there than Eastern Fortune on 16th.

The food at Sun's BBQ is really good but I find the dishes are smaller than other Chinese restaurant and a bit pricier.

I always get the milktea here. It's so GOOD!!! HK style!

Deep fried noodles with seafood. Soooooooo Delicious!

Here's some in my bowl...Just to bug you ppl. =P

This is deep friend shrimp covered in mayo. The BEST shit ever! This is a must try, if you guys decide to try this place out. Probably not the best healthiest dish ever...but it's sooooooooo tasty!

This is my favorite kind of fried rice of all time. Caviar fried rice. Me and my bf get it every single time.

Close up picture of this disgustingly delicious shrimp that could possibly shorten your life expectancy. =)
